5 shoe types every woman should have in their wardrobe

It’s true that not everyone is a shoe junkie or fashion icon.   Not everyone has an open cheque book and unlimited wardrobe space either.  But the good news is – that’s ok!

If you take our advice and invest in good leather shoes, look after them by keeping them clean and polished (see previous blog) you really only need five types of shoes in your wardrobe to cover nearly every occasion.

A pair of boots, a pair of flats, a black court, a nude court and a pair of sandals will take you from “whoa to go” and back again every single time.

  1. Classic Flats

The classic flat is versatile and comfy and the choice available these days is unbelievable.  The classic flat is a staple for your wardrobe and will cover all occasions, from a day at the office to running errands, or from the school pick-up to an evening out on the town.  A good pair of classic flats and you’re pretty much covered.

Available in black or nude, leather or patent leather and everything in between, the classic flat is one type of shoe every woman should have in their wardrobe.

  1. Black court

My particular favourite, the black court shoe is another absolute “must have” for every woman’s wardrobe.  This shoe, more than any other, will get you through your busiest day and into the evening over and over again.

Just a touch dressier than the classic flat, the black court shoe can be worn with your little black dress at work or a sleek cocktail dress for an evening out on the town.

Incorporate the black court shoe into your wardrobe and no matter what the occasion, you are dressed for it.

  1. Nude court

The nude court shoe is just as versatile as the black court, but along with all the pluses above the nude colour may sometimes better accessorise some of your lighter coloured work or evening wear.

The nude court is the perfect shoe for those occasions when the black court is just a little too black to enhance your outfit.

Nude patent leather shoes in particular will lengthen your legs and make you feel utterly classy and ready for anything.

  1. Boots

Chic, practical and comfortable, a good pair of leather boots will take you through the winter rains, the cold autumn winds and still ensure you look good no matter the occasion.

Dressed down with a pair of jeans, a tee-shirt and smart jacket or dressed up with a stylish skirt, leather jacket and toning scarf, every woman needs a pair of black boots in her wardrobe during the cooler months of the year.

  1. Sandals

And not forgetting those long lazy, hazy days of summer, you can’t go past a stylish pair of sandals for the hot summer months.  Choice, colour and styles abound and what better way to show off your short skirts, trendy shorts and sexy summer legs.

A comfortable and classy pair of sandals will help you look great and keep cool this summer.

So while there are plenty of us who would prefer to have 50 rather than just 5 pairs of shoes in our wardrobe, if you’re savvy and follow our advice, no-one will ever know that you don’t!
