Explore Kings Park and Elizabeth Quay on your overnight stay in Perth

As a flight attendant I loved overnight stays and took the opportunity to explore whichever city I was in, so I would love to help you explore Perth, my home city, while you on your layover.

Depending where you are staying of course but let us assume on this occasion you are staying in the city centre and want to check out some nature and city views. Walking is a great way to see a city, so here are two of my favourite places I highly recommend for you to explore.

Louise M shoes Perth Kings Park and Elizabeth Quay

Kings Park and Botanic Garden overlooking the city and Swan River, situated on Mount Eliza, is an obvious choice to escape your hotel room. The options for getting there include the free green CAT bus, a Transperth bus, or by foot via Mount Street. Enjoy the beautiful views and pathways spending an hour or several hours, it’s up to you.

Stop off at the café within Kings Park for a refreshment or enjoy Mount St Café for great coffee, breakfast or lunch. The Mount Street café is a very popular weekend destination for Perth residents particularly those doing exercise on Jacobs Ladder, 241 steps stretching from Mounts Bay Road to the top of Mount Street.

Next stop is Elizabeth Quay a waterfront destination connecting the CBD to the Swan River. A short stroll from your hotel you will be amongst luxury private apartments, the Ritz Carlton hotel, office buildings, and dining options. Features at the Quay include a beautiful carousel and an architectural designed gelato shop, with The Bell Tower nearby.

Elizabeth Quay can simply be part of your walk from Kings Park or put on your Louise M shoes and order a cocktail at the Ritz Carlton Songbird Bar and Lounge. Depending on the weather sitting on the outside lounges is my preferred place to soak in the city skyline and river below. Champagne please!

Why not give me a call for more places to explore while in Perth, my contact details can be found at www.louisemshoes.com.
